| Process Diagram |
The Process Diagram includes all the steps of the Decision Making Process: Structure, Data, Weights, Results & Analysis |
Safeguards that new users are not daunted by the new experience.
Groups can more easily focus the analysis as each step becomes part of the Decision Process. |
| Scenario Analysis |
A graphical comparison of results between perspectives: either between weightsets within a tree or between trees with their selected weightsets.
|
Scenario provides an overview comparison of stakeholders results.
This can either lead to reassurance that all stakeholders are going in the same direction or to provoke debate and highlight where differences lie. |
| Weights Sets |
In OnBalance different Sets of Weights can be created to capture and explore differences of opinion in the Weights of the Criteria.
Once created, each Set is available in all the windows to allow viewing and analysing the impacts. |
The Weights Sets can be used as a repository of ideas and as an audit trail that manifests due care in the decision making process.
Weights Sets are of great value when dealing with multiple stakeholders such as Regulators or Funding bodies. Differences in priorities, reflected in the different Weights, are captured and analysed with their impacts shown on the spot. |
| New Multilevel Trees |
Unlimited trees, nodes and hierarchy levels.
Can be used in combination with Multiple Trees to provide Decision Makers with an new perspective.
|
By showing all the information in one window, OnBalance encourages Decision Makers to create value sets of Criteria that include all the important differentiators.
Also, by grouping Criteria under Nodes and sub-nodes it is easy to have a very structured representation of the evaluation model. |
| Sensitivity Analysis |
New display to show how much a criterion would need to change before the lead Option flips.
Extended to include ranges of dominance for leading Options. Impact on other Criteria is visually reflected on the spot. |
The Sensitivity graph helps identify the resilience of the recommendation, and perform what-if analyses. Decision Makers can gain confidence that their Decision can withstand time and criticism.
Showing how the remaining Criteria are affected when the Weight of the Criterion in focus is changed, helps bring proposed changes into perspective. |
| Top Down Weighting |
Alternative value centric approach now available. Users can assign weights to nodes or areas of Criteria. You can switch between modes and the model will respond intelligently. |
This allows users to employ the weighting approach that they feel most comfortable with.
Being able to switch between modes allows both to be employed for sanity checks and cross referencing.
|
| Improved score card |
The Score Card helps score the Options, while viewing a very detailed description of the Criteria and the different scoring points.
It also allows scoring the Options against each Criterion in isolation, so that high levels of focus are sustained |
The Score Card allows very diligent and accurate Scoring, especially when expressions are used by providing the description of each expression. This leaves a clear audit trail for use with other stakeholders and for future re-familiarisation |
| New Results with numbers |
The standard bar chart for displaying the results has now been extended to include a numerical view of the performance |
This gives a more detailed view on the overall ranking of the options, as users can now see the exact numerical difference in the overall value of the options. |
| Improved Text Fields |
Each component of a model is associated with its own text field, where a description can be added together with hyperlinks to external documents and date & time tracking |
Descriptions allow users to easily brief models to stakeholders, to capture assumptions, to retain an audit trail and to reacquaint themselves after time has elapsed. |
| Comments on Scores |
All scores can now have a comment or description attached to them. As with all the plain text fields they can carry links to external information and date & time tracking |
Comments on the Scores help create an audit trail and a record of the assumptions in the model.
They also allow users to keep track of changes and re-familiarise themselves with past decisions. |
| New Look & Feel |
Improved 'Look and Feel' throughout all windows, including 3D objects and chevron shapes. |
This feature together with colour coding of all components of a model makes Groups feel comfortable even if they have not seen OnBalance before. |
| Improved Navigation |
Major rework of navigation menu through a parent window to facilitate use and understanding |
The new in window menus make OnBalance even more powerful for use within Groups.
The new menus allow the impacts of what-if analysis to be explored dynamically. |
| Import extended |
Preview effect, extra conversion features for Criteria, Units, text, and data conversion. |
A tremendously powerful feature that allows models to be created on the spot. Simply copy the data, paste into OnBalance and then tailor them to your hearts content. |
| Improved Reporting |
Reporting has been extended to include capturing of customised images of all model outputs. Images saved as jpg files so that they can be used anywhere |
This makes the conclusion of projects much more pleasant and efficient.
Textual information can be exported as well.
|
| Re-arranging Components |
New facility to rearrange options, criteria and all other components easily. |
Faster and more coherent ordering, data integrity check on close. |
