Negotiation support is Krysalis' new project. As initial guidance we are using the book by Howard Raiffa - The Art and Science of Negotiations.

It suggests that you can consider proposals or bids as Options and issues such as price, duration or features as Attributes. We can then construct a value tree for each player to the negotiations. The resultant total weighted score for each proposal could then be plotted on a map of Player A against Player B.

By knowing or guessing the mapping function together with the available range for each attribute it is possible to find an efficient frontier that is better for both parties.

We also intend to build into the model full support for the process of negotiation. These might include explicit use of mediators, rules for adjudication, analysis of dilemmas and the use of drama theory.

At this stage we are adding richness to a specification and looking for an early user club that will add a sense of experience to the specification and trial the early software. If you are interested you can email us for more information.
