Answers to Common Questions

How do I Register to download the software?
After clicking on the download link on the download page (OnBalance or HiPriority) you will be asked to register with us by providing a few details about yourself and your expected use of the software.  Once that has been submitted an email will be sent to the email address given on the registration form, containing a link and an access code to download the software.

Click on the link given in the email and enter the email address and access code exactly as they are shown in the email (you can copy and paste to be sure). A link to download the software will be available on the download and install page with further directions.

You can be sure that Krysalis will not use the registration details for anything other than helping you improve your experience of our software or other future products and services from Krysalis. It will not be passed on to any third party.

How do I de-register?
To remove your details from our registration list, please email us with the email address you registered with and  we will take you off all our databases.

Why am I unable to download the software?
After clicking on the download link on the download and install page the download should start automatically.

If you are unable to download the software at this point it may be due to security settings on your computer or company network. The download file has the extension .exe which may be blocked by your IT manager. If you contact us we can email or mail you a copy by return.

How do I update my software?
The latest version can be downloaded from the website after registering your details. Installing it will overwrite your older version without removing your models or changing the Edition (permissions) you currently have.  The key will work with the new software without the need to re-register.

Updating the software depends on which version you are using, and when you purchased the software. Please contact us for further information.

OnBalance and HiPriority both use very little memory and can therefore run at the same time. You can also open multiple copies of OnBalance or HiPriority to view different models simultaneously.

Why does nothing happen when I run the software?
It is most likely that the software has reached its expiry date and you do not have a registration key. If you have a registration key this may also have been for a trial or rental period.

Try downloading and installing a newer version from our website or requesting a registration key by email.

Why am I unable to save my models?
If the save button and menu items have been greyed out this will be because the Edition you are using has limited functionality. You will need a registration key to release the full functionality of the software.

Why do I need a registration key?
OnBalance and HiPriority will both run in demonstration mode for a limited period without a registration key. On purchasing the software a registration key will be provided. This will need to be installed in order to activate the edition you have purchased.

If you would like a trial period of a particular edition you can email us for a free registration key that will release the functionality of that edition for 15 days.

How do I know which edition and version I am using?
This can be found in the software by selecting 'About...' from the Help menu.
For example: OnBalance Version 1.0BE is version 1, release 0BE
The edition refers to the grade of software, for example, Professional Edition, Student Edition. The Edition is also displayed in bold at the bottom of the window.

Whenever an update or fix is made to the software it is given a new release number.

How do I extend my evaluation period?
If you wish to extend the period in which you can run the software in demonstration mode you can simply do this by downloading a later version at the beginning of the month. It is not possible to extend the evaluation period on a full edition of the software free of charge. However we do have very generous rental terms for 3 months or more.

Please contact us for more information.

Can I rent the software instead of purchasing it?
You can rent the software for an agreed period. This works in a similar way to purchasing the software except the registration key provided will have an expiry date.

The rental period may be extended or the software purchased at a later date.
