Negotiating towards a shared future.
When we are facing structural change there is inevitably suspicion and fear. One way of reducing this is to talk through the issues in a structured way.
This case study is about two schools - co-located but under different Management structures. External pressures such as falling rolls and short-term contracts were indicating that a merged management structure would be of benefit, but previous attempts had not come to an agreement.
Krysalis used OnBalance to facilitate discussions that focussed on the relative benefits of the options facing the two schools. This helped consensus and action orientation to prevail; within a few days they realised that a true merger would be the best solution.
