The wide spectrum of sectors that we have served and the range of problems that we have solved is a testament to our ability and flexibility. We are able to do that because we amalgamate our expertise in process design and decision support with yours in the problem domain to reach decisions that withstand time, criticism and setbacks.
Each of our projects is unique in its own merits so it is hard to describe the typical projects we undertake. However, projects that we have completed include:
Strategic Evaluation of prototypes in Pharmaceutical R&D
Krysalis helps pharmaceutical company select prototypes for further development. OnBalance is employed to help map all the critical aspects of the situation and thus balance the desire for innovation with speed and certainty to market. These decisions have long lasting effects hence many stakeholders from diverse disciplines are encouraged to participate to ensure openness and completeness. Krysalis has completed multiple studies and developed a defined process to drive to successful conclusion. read case study
Supplier Selection in the Pharmaceutical Industry
| This is a classic solution for trade-off choices. The selected supplier must meet several -frequently conflicting- objectives such as high quality of product, financial stability, assurance of supply etc. This type of decision can occasionally be mixed with the selection of the actual prototype; the selection criteria can easily be extended to consider this together.
|
Design of machines that assemble Pharmaceutical devices
| Assembling new devices usually needs improved or even new machines. This creates the dilemma about how much innovation to include in each iteration. The drive is always for faster, cheaper, lower risk, more flexibility, less maintenance and more reliability. As these are conflicting objectives MCDA is exactly the right science to analyse the trade-offs.

Oil Waste management for conformance with corporate standards
The management of drilling waste from oil rigs is becoming ever more regulated. Rather than commission a BEPO on every option for every site our client used OnBalance to identify and map the critical issues of the various stakeholders in the waste disposal process and then do specific analyses only on the leading contenders. "Run time" versions of OnBalance for viewing the results were sufficiently easy to use that they were sent to stakeholders around the world. read case study
Design of interface and system for internal communications and project prioritization
| This project joined Lotus notes workflow system with quarterly go/no-go decisions about marketing initiatives. The Notes system allowed anyone to "suggest" an initiative and progress it to initial screening. HiPriority was used to view the backlog against different perspectives and possibly "kill" good projects to channel the resources to more promising ones.

Design and evaluation of process for Nuclear Waste management
| When designing processes, only occasionally it is just about the core technology. There is also the problem of recovery, transport, treatment and containerisation Each phase will have many options but HiPriority can search out the "Best" solutions for serious consideration. read about project

- Government and Local Government more...
Creation of a consortium for Government projects
Any major project needs a mixture of skills. Candidates not only need to be best of class, but also need to work together and compliment each other. This is a management of complexity issue for which Krysalis developed an elegant solution. HiPriority was used to help determine the best value combination of contractors in a public sector consortium. read case study
Strategic decisions in Education; school mergers
How do you help groups that have tried a merger but were bruised in the attempt? We used OnBalance to help them jointly describe what would be good about variations on a common future, overcome emotional and political tensions and thus reach consensus on the way forward. When the "Do Nothing" option came a poor 4th they were all galvanized into action. The joint school opened a year later. read case study

Design of promotional campaign, aligned with strategic plans
Henry Ford said "Half my promotional budget is wasted; trouble is I don't know which half". By measuring each project against a set of goals we were able to help a client significantly improve the odds and demonstrate higher degree of integration.
Marketing Planning Decisions
A software house has developed processes to ensure a thorough assessment of relative market attractiveness based upon those factors which are important to the business. The 4sight process uses OnBalance to facilitate the decision-making process. read case study
Enhancement Prioritisation for Customer Relationship Management
Mike Meyer, who participated in the Krysalis OnBalance training course in January 2004, announced that his Siftwork consultancy has been selected to deliver an upgraded sales, marketing and services (CRM) solution to a London Stock Exchange-listed technology company. read case study

Rolling budget allocation
Before the privatisation of BR, the West Coast line had a pot of money allocated to station enhancement. Krysalis helped build an approach whereby new projects were started each month depending on their quality compared to the other bids in the melting pot. New money and potential projects were constantly introduced. This created a transparent catalyst to for the group to make decisions
